Circa 1700's, this restored fieldstone farmhouse is nestled in heart of historic Spring House, Montgomery Co., Pa. The grounds host a sycamore tree believed to be the oldest in Montgomery Co. Cozy comfort in luxuriousbeds, antiquess and reproduction furnishing, fireplaces and a country garden will make your visit most memorable.

Spring House is so called because, at one time, of copious springs bubbling forth. The great Minsi trail, a major trading and communication conduit among Mohawk, Iroquois and Lenape villages, wound southward out of the Pocono Mountains eventually passing through Spring House. The site was also an important intersection, as was "Maxatawney Trail." The Europeans would later call it, "The Great Road" and ultimately, "Sumneytown Pike."

Spring House was a stagecoach stop in the 1700's. George Washington and his troops marched down Old Bethlehem Pike and Washington and his troops slept near-by -- in all probability on the property. The Red Coats visited the Spring House Village and the tavern, and communications on this matter may be found in the archives.

The Sycamore Suite

Centennial Park and walking trails are adjacent to the home, so bring your walking shoes or bikes. Enjoy driving thru the picturesque farmlands and communities and thru Gwynedd Valley viewing the mansions of Philadelphian summer homes and later permanent residences. Visit Gwynedd Mercy campus and Assumption Hall, which boasts a Georgian Revival style mansion, the estate known as "Willowbrook Farm", "The Home of James Bond"... William Penn Inn was built in 1714 and across from the old Quaker meetinghouse is the oldest continuously operated restaurant in Pennsylvania. Hope Lodge is an absolute must to visit and only minutes away.

The Garden View Suite: Private floor with loft boasts a wonderfully comfortable bedroom with a queen sized bed and one single room with twin bed. Luxurious private bath with 1800's claw foot soaking tub with shower, All the windows have a view of the grounds and the garden. The guest room with the queen size bed may be rented without the smaller bedroom.

All of the guests rooms, except the small twin room, have luxurious pillow top mattresses, cable TV, fireplaces, wireless internet and private baths.
